The Key to Making Desire Reality

Here’s the thing, we all have desires. I’d love to lose some weight. I want to be a better leader. I’d like to be a stronger Christian, know the Bible better etc etc. I want a better relationship with my family, friends (maybe to even find a few friends would be nice). There is no shortage of desires. Some of these desires come from a self evaluation and seeing some of our shortfalls or weak spots. Some of our desires come from seeing someone else and what they are like, what they have etc and wanting that in our lives. Some of our desires come from dreams, pictures in our mind of what could be. Everyone has desires, but it seems that few of us see those desires become reality. In some cases, they shouldn’t become reality, because the desires are not good ones. They are desires that will take us away from God, away from the need of the Gospel etc etc. But then there are those desires that good, Godly desires yet never become real.

Our journey shapes us

We are shaped by our experiences. Some of us are shaped in negative ways, like when trust is violated by someone close to us and we say, “I’ll never trust anyone again.” And some of us are shaped positively. In my case through several of my experiences I learned to prioritize some things that were not a high priority for me before. And that is what I’d like to share in this post, because at the end of the day it’s who we become and it’s what we let God shape us into that really matters.
